Wright-Phillips flattered by transfer speculation

Plymouth Argyle's Bradley Wright-Phillips says he is "flattered" by the speculation linking him with a move away from the cash-strapped club.

The 25-year-old striker, League One's top scorer, was the subject of a failed bid by Premier League side Blackpool.

"I'm flattered," Wright Phillips told BBC Devon. "But I play for Plymouth, and I will do until that day comes."

Plymouth have recently sold Craig Noone and Reda Johnson in an attempt to clear their debts with HM Revenue & Customs.

The Devon club currently have around £500,000 outstanding in unpaid tax bills, and are under a transfer embargo imposed by the Football League.

Argyle boss Peter Reid said: "We had a bid for Bradley Wright-Phillips that didn't match our valuation of him.

"He's our player until anything different happens. He's scored 13 goals, has been terrific and he's just got to keep going until that changes."

Wright-Phillips moved to Home Park in July 2009, but injury lay-offs limited his first-team appearances until this season.

"When you move, it's always going to be a bit difficult to settle in," he added. "But, once you do, good things happen.

"The fans have been good to me, so it's always good when you get a goal to celebrate with them.

"I enjoy it here - I think I've done OK. I've met some good people and I've got some good friends."

The in-form striker will be hoping to add to his goal tally when Plymouth visit Bournemouth for this Saturday's rearranged fixture.

"We just want to go out there and keep a clean sheet and then, if we win, it could bring us up with the play-off teams."
