Ferguson's side are up to third in League One

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson believes his side showed their promotion credentials in Tuesday's 0-0 League One draw with MK Dons.

Posh dominated the match, but could not find a breakthrough against against their local rivals.

Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Some of our attacking play was fantastic, we just needed a little bit of luck.

"I thought we were outstanding, I can't ask anymore of my players."

Posh are up to third in League One after drawing with the Dons.

Roberto Di Matteo's side are four points ahead in second, but have played a game more.

Ferguson takes his side to Leeds on Saturday and is confident they can get a result.

"If we can perform like that with the tempo and the passing then we won't be far away," he said.

"We'll go to Leeds full of confidence, if we can perform with energy we'll cause a lot of problems."

Chris Whelpdale is an injury doubt for Saturday after twisting his ankle in the second half against the Dons.

Meanwhile, midfielder Paul Coutts has been handed a driving ban after pleading guilty to a drink driving offence.

The 20-year-old was arrested last week and appeared in court on Wednesday morning.
