McCarthy keen to keep playing
Paul McCarthy
Oxford United defender Paul McCarthy said he was disappointed his team faced a fixture break after they kept their place at the top of Division Three.

The U's beat Rochdale 2-1 to keep their one point lead over Doncaster, but do not play again until 13 December.

"I'm disappointed about it, because I've just got back in the side," he told the club's official website.

"I had a nightmare at the start of the season with injury, but I feel good now."

But McCarthy said his team deserved victory on Saturday, and tipped them to continue their promotion push.

"The general atmosphere around the place is good. The crowd were superb (on Saturday) and that helps," he said.
