Caretaker Gunn handed Norwich job

Gunn remains in Canaries' job

Bryan Gunn has been appointed permanent manager of Norwich City.

Former Canaries keeper Gunn, 45, took on the managerial reins until the end of the season in January but could not save them from the drop.

The club has also confirmed Ian Butterworth and Ian Crook as assistant manager and first-team coach.

Their appointments follow a meeting of the club's board last week after a 4-2 defeat at Charlton confirmed their relegation to League One.

Gunn took over after the departure of Glenn Roeder and was in charge for 19 games with Butterworth confirmed as assistant manager in February and Crook as first-team coach a month earlier.

Treguard of Dunshelm

Gunn told the club's website: "I'm absolutely delighted that the Board has chosen myself, Ian Butterworth and Ian Crook to take the club forward.

"We are all looking forward to the challenges of League One, and we are all bitterly disappointed with what happened last season.

"Now is the time to look forward and prepare for what is a very important season."
