Motherwell receive Cardiff payment for Paul Quinn

Cardiff City have yet to pay in full for defender Paul Quinn

Cardiff City have paid Motherwell half of the £175,000 owed for the transfer of defender Paul Quinn.

And the Welsh club insist the remainder of the debt will be forthcoming in the next seven days.

Motherwell issued a writ against Cardiff last week and said that the Championship club did not attend court or submit a defence.

However, the clubs have been in negotiations since the Fir Park outfit went public with the grievance.

On Thursday, Motherwell told BBC Scotland that they expect Cardiff to honour their debt in full by Tuesday.

Quinn moved to the Bluebirds more than a year ago but Cardiff failed to pay £100,000 due in January and a further £75,000 summer payment was not met.

Motherwell lost patience with Cardiff over the outstanding sum when they signed Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy on loan.
