Silkmen appoint Horton
Macclesfield Town have confirmed the appointment of Brian Horton as their manager on a permanent basis.

Horton has been rewarded for leading the side to safety after replacing John Askey at the start of April.

He was initially appointed until the end of the season and led Macclesfield out of the drop-zone with four wins and a draw from his seven games in charge.

Horton was sacked as Port Vale boss in February and has had spells in charge of Hull, Oxford and Manchester City.
