Kinnear to strengthen
Joe Kinnear is planning to consolidate his Luton side's position at the top of Division three by signing two new players.

Kinnear saw his side beat Swansea 3-0 to leapfrog Plymouth into top place and is now looking to further strengthen his squad.

He can bring in two players on loan to Kenilworth Road after completing the signings of Dean Crowe and Ian Hillier.

We played so well at times and kept the ball so well that they were chasing shadows
Joe Kinnear

"Iżve brought my spending up to a massive 220 grand so far, so Iżm not doing too badly," said Kinnear on the club's official website. "And Iżve got 13 players for that.

"I tried to get Matthew Upson on loan from Arsenal. I tried [Matthew] Etherington from Spurs before he went away. Iżll just keep banging on doors."

He added: żNow Iżve signed the two loan players, Hillier and Crowe permanently, I can get two more loan players in.

"That will probably enable us to get a stronger squad. I may be able to get two more in by next week.ż

Dean Crowe, Russell Perrett and Adrian Forbes each scored in Luton's win.

Kinnear said: "We played so well at times and kept the ball so well that they were chasing shadows.

"Without criticising them, I think we dominated the game."
