Sven-Goran Eriksson eager to extend Kyle Naughton loan

Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson says he would like to extend the loan of Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kyle Naughton.

The 21-year-old joined the Foxes until January last week, becoming the former England manager's first signing since taking charge at the Walkers Stadium.

Naughton scored the opening goal in Tuesday's 2-1 win at Leeds.

And Eriksson told BBC Radio Leicester: "I hope we can keep him on loan for a long time."

He added: "He's a very good player and I'm happy for him that he's scored. He's very athletic, he's got good technique, he's quick - he can run up and down the wing all day."

Veteran striker Steve Howard doubled Leicester's lead at Elland Road before the Foxes had to withstand a late Leeds rally after Luciano Becchio pulled one back.

But Eriksson said there was no question that his side deserved all three points.

"We played very good football for almost 90 minutes," he said. "We could have killed the game after 20-25 minutes, we didn't but the players did very well.

"It was 40 minutes before Leeds had their first shot and that's very good from our point of view.

"I'm happy for the players and the club. If we can keep playing football like we did last night I think the future is good."
