Loss was worst of season - Pearson

Nigel Pearson
Leicester City are fifth in League One

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson says the Foxes gave their worst performance of the season in the 2-0 defeat at Rotherham on Tuesday.

Matty Fryatt missed a penalty as the Foxes went out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie.

Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "I don't think we showed the type of drive we needed and it is very disappointing.

"If we go into Saturday's game with that sort of mentality then we're going to have a very tough day of it."

Midfielder Nicky Adams added: "We're all gutted because we saw this as a competition we could have gone far in and obviously you play at Wembley.

"So we're all disappointed but Rotherham were the better team on the night."

The Foxes host Stevenage in the first round proper of the FA Cup on Saturday.

The visitors are currently ninth in the Blue Square Premier table.
