Hibernian have signed French midfielder Patrick Noubissie on a two-year contract and immediately farmed him out on loan to Livingston.

The 24-year-old will spend the first three months of his stay in Scotland with the Division One outfit.

Hibs manager John Collins was impressed by Noubissie's performance as a trialist for Livingston in last weekend's 2-0 defeat by Dundee.

Noubissie had been released after playing three times for Swindon Town.

Collins told his club website: "I feel that, right now, what Patrick needs is competitive football under his belt and he will get that at Livingston.

It's a big move for me. I was pleased that someone like John Collins has taken an interest

"He will train with them in the mornings and with us in the afternoons - and that way we will be able to work on his fitness."

The Frenchman started his career at CS Brétigny-sur-Orge before heading for Le Mée-sur-Seine SF, CS Sedan Ardennes and US Roye Foot Picardie 80.

In England, he has had spells with Crewe Alexandra, Stockport County, Grimsby Town then Swindon, where he worked with former Hibs manager John Blackley.

Noubissie said: "I know that the likes of Franck Sauzee and David Zitelli have played here and, when I was a teenager, I also remember watching John Collins playing for Monaco.

"I was a Monaco supporter and the manager played in my position, central midfield, and he was a player I wanted to copy.

"I'm now very excited to be joining Hibs, a club whose name is known all over the world.

"It's a big move for me. I was pleased that someone like John Collins has taken an interest.

"When you see the style of football Hibernian play, you don't need anyone to convince you to join the club."

Meanwhile, Hibs have also farmed out defender Dermot McCaffrey to Livingston.

The 21-year-old will spend the season at Almondvale.
