Rod Petrie has been named as the new chairman of Hibs following the recent resignation of Ken Lewandowski.

Petrie, who had been the club's managing director, takes on the new role with immediate effect.

"Having served an "apprenticeship" for eight years, I look forward to continuing to work with our talented young manager Tony Mowbray," he said.

"I have learned something from each of the chairmen I have served under at the club," he told the Hibs website.

"It is my privilege to assume the duties of chairman safe in the knowledge of the help available from executive and non-executive colleagues alike to ensure the careful stewardship of the club which means so much to so many people."
