King enjoying link-up with Manset

Hereford United

Hereford United's Craig King says he is enjoying playing as a striker alongside giant Frenchman Mathieu Manset.

King, who is on loan from Leicester, had been playing in midfield but returned to his to his favoured role in the 2-1 win against Darlington.

He told BBC Hereford and Worcester that Manset was an excellent partner.

"Mathieu is a strong lad and holds the ball up well. He is good to work with up front. He is good in the air and I can work off him," he said.

"Before I came on loan I was playing in midfield a lot and learning the role but I prefer it up front, setting up people and scoring goals."

King, who has extended his stay at Hereford from Leicester until the end of the season, has been given permission by the Foxes to play in the FA Cup tie against Sutton United on Saturday.

And he said he would love to help the Bulls reach the third round and then draw his parent club.

"It would be good to get them and show them what I can do and when I go back I can maybe get into the first team and do well there," he said.

"I am looking forward to playing in the FA Cup. I'm getting a lot of experience with Hereford, they're giving me plenty of games."
