Chelsea are the latest club to join the chase for Hamilton Accies' midfielder James McCarthy.
The Premiership side's chief scout Frank Arnesen was in the stand to watch the 16-year-old in Hamilton's 2-1 win against Partick Thistle on Saturday.
McCarthy has been having signing talks with Celtic, Liverpool and Rangers after breaking into the Accies' first-team.
He also spent two days training with Premiership side Reading.
Hamilton Accies manager Billy Reid said he was disappointed McCarthy was likely to play for Republic of Ireland instead of Scotland.
McCarthy has been called up to the Irish Under-17 squad and there has been criticism aimed at the Scottish FA for not making the first move.
