Thornley joins Halifax
Halifax have signed former Manchester United winger Ben Thornley.

Thornley has joined on non-contract terms and is set to make his Conference bow at Scarborough on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old started his career at Old Trafford before spending three years with Huddersfield and briefer spells at Aberdeen and Blackpool.

"Ben is looking for a club at the moment and could be with us until the end of the season," boss Chris Wilder told the Halifax Courier newspaper.

Thornley started this season with hometown club Bury but was released after making five appearances and recently spent time at Partick Thistle.

Meanwhile, Wilder, who has been looking to add some experience to his attack, has told former Rotherham midfielder Danny Hudson that he will not have his contract renewed in the summer.
