Richards joins Halifax
Blackburn Rovers' England Under-18 international Marc Richards
This is Marc Richards' third loan spell this season
Relegation-threatened Halifax Town have signed Blackburn Rovers striker Marc Richards on loan.

Bottom-of-the-table Town have scored just 22 goals in 31 games - the worst scoring record in Division Three.

Manager Alan Little has turned to 19-year-old Richards to try and improve that output.

And the former England youth international is set to make his debut in Halifax's crucial game with third-from-bottom York at the Shay on Tuesday.

Richards has made one first-team appearance in the Worthington Cup for Rovers and had loan spells with Crewe and Oldham this season.

He will be available for seven games during his month's stay with Halifax as Little's men bid to beat the drop.

"We are pleased to have signed such a talented young striker who already has a record of scoring goals for Blackburn's reserves," Halifax chairman Bob Walker told the club's website.

"The good thing about the deal is that Richards wanted to come to Halifax to gain some league experience."
