Defender Stevland Angus is hoping to earn himself a contract at Grimsby after joining the Mariners on trial.
Angus spent last season with Torquay in League Two
The 26-year-old is a free agent after leaving Torquay in the summer, having made 36 appearances for them in League Two last season.
"I had an ankle injury at the end of last season, but that is okay now," Angus told Grimsby's website.
"I believe (manager) Alan Buckley tried to get me in January, but he said Torquay were having none of it."
Angus began his career at West Ham but failed to make a first-team appearance for the Hammers.
He played for Bournemouth, Cambridge United, Hull, Scunthorpe, Grays and Barnet before joining Torquay last summer.
