Everton have agreed a deal that gives them first option to sign Azerbaijan's teenage midfielder Araz Abdullayev.
The agreement allows Everton to sign the Neftchi Baku player during the next two years, subject to a work permit.
The 18-year-old made his international debut in October 2008 to become his country's youngest international.
Abdullayev, scorer of a spectacular goal against Scotland Under-21s in March, has travelled to Merseyside and undergone a medical at the club.
