Clarke returns to Everton

Clarke has been on loan for the last two months
Everton have recalled England Under-21 international Peter Clarke from a loan spell at Port Vale.

The defender has returned to Goodison because of the suspensions of Gary Naysmith and David Weir following their red cards in the Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool.

Clarke, who has impressed at every level for England schools, youth and under-21, will be used as cover for Joseph Yobo and David Unsworth for Everton's games to Fulham and Manchester United.

The defender has been with Port Vale over the last two months and their manager Brian Horton said: "Peter has done very well for us and we wish him well in the future."

Meanwhile, Everton will beam back the Fulham game onto giant television screens to Goodison Park.

They have already sold their 3,000-seat ticket allocation for the match in west London and will have 3,000 more seats available at Goodison.
