Dunfermline snap up Moroccan Rossi
New Dunfermline signing Youssef Rossi has 58 caps for Morocco
Dunfermline have completed the signing of Moroccan international Youssef Rossi from Rennes subject to a work permit after he came through a testing medical.

The central defender is still recovering from knee ligament damage and is unlikely to have regained match fitness before October - but the Pars are satisfied his rehabilitation is on course.

Rossi, who has 58 caps for his country and played all three games for them in the 1998 World Cup, revealed there was also interest in him from an unnamed German club.

He opted for East End Park because of manager Jimmy Calderwood who previously coached him at Dutch side NEC Nijmegen.

He said: "The discussions I had with Jimmy were key to me coming here. He convinced me I could play well in Scottish football. Now I want to recover from my injury and show my best form for Dunfermline."
