Andrius Skerla's move from Dunfermline to Rubin Kazan has collapsed after the Russian side failed to come up with the 200,000 transfer fee.

The Lithuanian had been keen to move because of a family bereavement, but doubts arose over the potential buyers' ability to raise the funds.

Skerla will now remain at East End Park for the rest of the season at least.

Manager Davie Hay confirmed: "Andrius' move is off. He is staying here and is in the squad for the Celtic game."

Skerla, who arrived from PSV Eindhoven in 2000, had already said his public goodbyes in a half-time appearance during the recent game with Motherwell.
