Cowdenbeath sack Wright
Keith Wright

Cowdenbeath have sacked manager Keith Wright and assistant Mickey Weir despite a 2-0 victory over Albion Rovers on Saturday.

The win, which lifted the Blue Brazil from second bottom to seventh in Division Three, was not enough to save the former Hibernian players.

Wright had helped Cowdenbeath gain promotion as a player in 2001.

He took over as manager midway through the following season but could not prevent relegation.

The Fife side have since failed to make a promotion challenge.
