Nicholson joins Spireites
Defender Shane Nicholson has signed a one-year deal with Chesterfield after leaving Tranmere Rovers.

The 34-year-old spent the 1998/99 season at Saltergate and has also played for Derby, West Brom, Stockport, Sheffield United and Tranmere.

Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland said: "Shane Nicholson is an experienced player who will help provide balance to the side.

"He joins Alan O'Hare and Mark Innes as natural left sided players."
