Chester to clear debts - Anderson

Chester City

Chester City chairman Ian Anderson insists that the club's dispute with the Football Conference will be resolved, reports BBC Radio Merseyside.

City face expulsion from the Conference if they fail to pay money they owe to Wrexham and Vauxhall Motors.

"There is an undertaking from me as a solicitor to the Conference which will be resolved on the 16 November and the slate will be wiped clean," he said.

Chester were given an extension as the first deadline passed on 26 October.

Anderson continued: "It hasn't changed from a couple of weeks ago, when Chester City Football Club was owed more money than it currently owes. Hopefully on the 16 November that situation will be addressed.

"Everyone will hopefully be in a position then to have all the facts in front of them."

Anderson has also stressed that the club is for sale as long as they get the right offer and the person in question has the money to take control of the club.

"If someone wants to come in and make us a sensible offer," said Anderson, "we've heard people want to buy the club. But, like everything else, you've got to show us you've got the money.

"If anyone wants to buy Chester City Football Club, contact me, show me you have the money, make me a sensible offer and we'll do the deal."

Chester are bottom of the Blue Square Premier after suffering a 25-point deduction at the start of the season.

The club also has been placed under a transfer embargo for the non-payment of creditors, which was sanctioned by the Football Conference.
