Chelsea poised to lose Dalla Bona
Sam Dalla Bona
Dalla Bona had a great season for the Blues
Chelsea are resigned to losing their talented Italian midfielder Sam Dalla Bona.

Managing director Colin Hutchinson confirmed Wednesday that AC Milan had "shown interest" in the 20-year-old who had a fine season last term.

Despite being played in his favoured central midfield role by manager Claudio Ranieri, Dalla Bona turned down a contract offer earlier this year.

Ranieri has strengthened his midfield with the summer signings of Frank Lampard and Emmanuel Petit for a combined 18.5m.

Dalla Bona's sale could help recoup around a third of that outlay.

Venezia had a 5m offer accepted recently but the player did not fancy the move to Venice.

Hutchinson says losing Dalla Bona would be a huge blow
Chelsea are currently on a pre-season tour of Italy and Hutchinson admitted the club didn't want to lose Dalla Bona.

"It comes as a huge blow to Claudio Ranieri, who has spent 25m this summer trying to bridge the gap with Manchester United," Hutchinson said.

"But we haven't heard anything back from the player or his agent, which tells us he isn't really committed to Chelsea."
