Beharall is boosted by scan news
Carlisle's David Beharall has learned that he has not suffered a tear to any of the major ligaments in his knee.

The defender had an MRI scan after he was injured in training on Wednesday - but now should be able to return to action earlier than had been expected.

United have offered ex-Newcastle man Jamie McClen, 26, a short-term deal.

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Paul Weller, 30, will continue to train with the Cumbrians to improve his fitness while he bids to earn a contract.

However, boss Paul Simpson has chosen to release Ukrainian trialist Dmitri Pronovych.
