Bluebirds release Prior
Spencer Prior
Prior joined from Manchester City three years ago
Cardiff City have released defender Spencer Prior on a free contract.

The club have offered Martyn Margetson and Gary Croft new deals, while Gavin Gordon has been told he can stay if he fails to find a new club.

"I'm sorry to see Spencer go, but he's 33, he didn't play much this season and it's time for him to move on," said Cardiff manager Lennie Lawrence.

"He's played his part at Cardiff, but the emergence of James Collins is a factor in my decision."

Lawrence said he is still interested in making York midfielder Lee Bulloch's move to Ninian Park permanent and confirmed that the club are pursuing Wigan centre-half Jason De Vos.

Prior, who joined the Bluebirds for 700,000 from Manchester City three years ago, says he is determined to find another first-division club.

"I'm convinced I can do a job at this level," said Prior.
