Shakers chase Solly
Bury are lining up a deal for teenage Wolves goalkeeper Lewis Solly.

The 19-year-old has been told he can leave Molineux and has impressed Bury player-manager Andy Preece during an extended trial spell at Gigg Lane.

Preece said: "He will probably be coming for next season, rather than the rest of this one, but we may still get him on a non-contract basis for the last few games.

"Glyn Garner is our top keeper but I'm sure Lewis will be looking to push him as hard as he can in pre-season and might even push in front of him by the start of next year.

"He's got a great reputation at Wolves, but they've got plenty of good keepers," Preece told Bury's website.

Meanwhile, Bury chairman John Smith has warned the club's future could again be in danger if gates don't improve.

Despite pushing for promotion, Bury attracted the league's lowest crowd of 2,776 for Saturday's win over Lincoln City.

"These gates are abysmal and going down all the time," said Smith.

"If we keep getting attendances like that we won't be around for the start of next season."
