Teenager Scott Sinclair says the offer of a switch to Premiership champions Chelsea was too good to turn down following his move from Bristol Rovers.
The 16-year-old, who has been at Rovers since he was seven, has signed scholarship forms at Stamford Bridge.
Sinclair told the Evening Post: "I want to thank Rovers who have been so good to me and understood that this was an opportunity I couldn't turn down.
"Chelsea's set-up is incredible and I didn't need much persuading to sign."
Rovers had offered Sinclair a place at their own academy with the guarantee of a professional contract at the end of it.
