Matthews awaits City recall
Bristol City striker Lee Matthews
Matthews has had an injury-hit time at Ashton Gate
Bristol City striker Lee Matthews is keen for another chance to make up for his disappointing performance in his first start for more than a year against Port Vale.

The Robins lost 1-0 on Saturday after squandering a host of chances to get something out of the game.

And the 22-year-old found himself back on the bench for Tuesday's Carling Cup second round match against Watford.

"I felt quite nervous [against Port Vale] because I'd not started a game for so long and I got so uptight I didn't produce the goods," Matthews told BBC Radio Bristol.

"I didn't play as well as I can but the chance will come again and I will hopefully score and stay in the team."
