Brentford cancel Somner contract
Brentford defender Matt Somner has left Griffin Park after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

The 22-year-old, who made his debut in May 2001, is expected to join League Two strugglers Cambridge who he moved to on loan in December.

Boss Martin Allen told the Bees website: "Although he has not figured, Matt has been a model professional and it is difficult to let him go.

Somner made 101 appearances for Brentford and scored two goals.
