Midfielder Blessing Kaku has agreed a three-year deal with English Premiership club Bolton Wanderers.

He will be the second Nigerian player to sign for the Trotters, after captain Jay-Jay Okocha.

Kaku, who possesses Belgian nationality, did not require a work permit to complete the move.

The 26-year-old, who has made sporadic international appearances for Nigeria in recent years, is the club's ninth signing of the season.

Blessing is an excellent signing for us
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce

"Blessing is an excellent signing for us," said manager Sam Allardyce.

"He impressed me and my coaching staff on a recent trial and had all the attributes to be a success in the Premiership.

"He has an excellent passing game and likes to get on the offensive.

"He also has the necessary defensive instincts to make it in the English game and is not afraid to get stuck in and win challenges in the middle of the park."

Kaku, a part of the Nigerian team at the 2000 Olympics, played for Ashdod in the Israeli league last season and also had a stint with Belgian club Harelbeke.
