Barnsley manager Simon Davey
Davey has led his side to FA Cup wins over Liverpool and Chelsea

Boss Simon Davey is confident Barnsley will produce more FA Cup heroics in Sunday's semi-final against Cardiff.

"Our team have come so far, they have fought and battled to beat two of the top sides in Europe to get to a semi-final at Wembley," he told BBC 5 Live.

"The carrot of an FA Cup final - the most famous fixture in the world - is only 90 minutes away.

"My players will be focused and they will have the belief they can do it.

Who am I to tell them they can't?"

Davey revealed he hired a comedian to entertain the players in their team hotel on Saturday night.

"He came in for half an hour after dinner to help them relax and have a few laughs," Davey told the Sportsweek programme.

"We sent them to bed at 8.30/8.45 and the mood is quite relaxed.

"Everyone said it was a fluke when we won at Liverpool and it doesn't happen twice. But the millionaires from Chelsea came to Oakwell and we did it again.

"Credit has to go to the players. They rose to the challenge and I am sure they are going to do it again this afternoon."

Only goal difference is keeping the Tykes out of the Championship relegation zone, and Davey admits the team's Cup run has been a distraction to their league campaign.

Opponents Cardiff are in mid-table, 10 points better off than their Yorkshire counterparts.

"Our results have faltered in the league over the last two months but the performances haven't been too bad," Davey added.

"It has been difficult for me to find a balance between keeping them on track in the league when they have their eyes on this massive game coming up.

We have no fear in the dressing room

Barnsley manager Simon Davey
"It's not going to be an easy game but the big factor for me is that we are going to Wembley as underdogs.

"It will be a different game to what we've been used to in the FA Cup so far this season.

"It will be more like a Championship game and Cardiff will be favourites.

"But we are not going down to make up the numbers. We have no fear in the dressing room.

"This is a massive game for everyone concerned with the club and we want to make it a day to remember."
