Stanley extend McEvilly loan
Rochdale striker Lee McEvilly
McEvilly has enjoyed an impressive spell at Accrington so far
Accrington Stanley have extended the loan spell of Rochdale striker Lee McEvilly for a further month.

The Northern Ireland international has scored once in three appearances for the Reds so far.

He has also switched to a defensive position to help Stanley through their current suspension problems.

"He will play anywhere because he's the type of lad who enjoys playing. I think he's a great acquistion to the squad," said manager John Coleman.

Coleman and club chairman Eric Whalley met representatives of the FA in Manchester on Tuesday to discuss Stanley's disciplinary record which has seen them tot up 11 sendings-off and 69 bookings in the Conference this season.

The FA are taking no action at this stage but will monitor the club's progress between now and the end of the campaign.

Coleman said the talks were constructive, and added: "Everyone wants the same thing. We want to see ourselves with less cautions, sendings-off and suspensions and the FA are in agreement.

"We have got to take responsibility for our actions and be accountable for ourselves.

"It's no good hiding behind referees. We have to address the problem and to minimise the cards. We have made a concerted effort."
