2129: Kyle Lafferty comes on for Vladimir Weiss in Rangers' first substitution of the evening.

2128: Vicente drags a shot wide of the Rangers goal.

"Juan Mata has been a solid player for Valencia tonight - he's normally a match winner but luckily for Rangers, not this evening." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Gordon Smith

My Sport
From bringthemonjpn On My Sport: "Foster- even I might have scored that one"

2126: Vicente replaces Juan Mata for Valencia.

Yellow card
2125: Valencia's Juan Mata is booked for a late tackle on Ricky Foster.

"Even though Valencia have been great, you have to say that if this game ends 1-1, it'd be a disappointment to Rangers." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Gordon Smith

2123: Another superb chance missed by Rangers. Steven Naismith's shot is blocked by Ricardo Costa and the ball falls invitingly to Ricky Foster, but the full-back blazes over with the goal at his mercy.

2122: Ricardo Costa makes a clearance from Steven Whittaker's cross but the offside flag was already up against Steven Naismith, who was waiting in the middle.

2122: We're into the last 10 minutes of regulation time. A goal now could be decisive.

2121: Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor saves comfortably from Aritz Aduriz's header.

Yellow card
2120: Rangers captain David Weir is booked for a challenge on Roberto Soldado.

"That's four or five unbelievable chances at this level. You simply must take them or you'll be punished." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds

"I think Naismith was trying to control the ball rather than shoot but what a chance." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Gordon Smith

2118: Valencia make a change with Tino Costa replaced by Manuel Fernandes.

2117: An excellent chance missed by Rangers. Steven Davis's ball over the top is run on to by the onside Steven Naismith but the forward does not make a clean connection as he clips the ball wide.

"It's a wide open game isn't it? Valencia probably still have most of the possession but Rangers are dangerous on the break. It really could go either way this one." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Gordon Smith

2115: Some intricate defensive work from Rangers keeps Valencia at bay, as Ricky Foster intercepts and Steven Davis plays the ball back to his goalkeeper Allan McGregor, who has to move quickly to complete the clearance.

2112: Rangers win a free-kick in a good position after Steven Naismith is fouled by Jeremy Mathieu. Sasa Papac takes a shot and it creeps just over the crossbar. Decent shot by the defender.

2111: Rangers have broken up a few Valencia attacks but are struggling to pick out passes as they try and break.

My Sport
From bringthemonjpn On My Sport: "What a magic wee chip from Davis. Unlucky"

Yellow card
2107: Scorer of both goals Maurice Edu is booked for a late tackle on Mehmet Topal.

2107: We're into the last 25 minutes and the match is finely poised at 1-1.

"Rangers have been pinned in by Valencia at the moment. I think their best chance would be to hit the Spaniards on the break." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Gordon Smith

2106: Rangers midfielder Steven Davis tries to catch Cesar Sanchez off his line with a delicate chip but the keeper manages to tip over.

2104: Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra bursts out of defence and plays the ball over the top for Kenny Miller but goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez claims the ball.

2102: Ricardo Costa's angled drive is deflected onto the roof of the net. Valencia are really putting the pressure on their hosts.

Yellow card
2100: Valencia's Aritz Adruiz is booked for refusing to retreat at a free-kick.

2059: Tino Costa's deep cross is spilled by Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor but Sasa Papac is on hand to make the clearance.

"Rangers look a bit shocked. The two up-front for Valencia are giving them more to think about... the home side are a little bit shaky." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds

2051: Juan Mata fires over the Rangers crossbar from the edge of the penalty area. An excellent chance missed by the visitors.

2050: Rangers go back on the attack and Kenny Miller's shot is blocked by Ricardo Costa. Valencia break quickly and Aritz Adruiz's shot is deflected into the arms of Allan McGregor.

2048: GOAL Rangers 1-1 Valencia (Edu own goal)
Tino Costa's inswinging free-kick is headed into his own net by Maurice Edu, who has now scored for both teams. All square again.

2047: The second half gets underway.

2044: BBC Radio Scotland pitch-side reporter Chick Young expects Valencia substitute Roberto Soldado to come on at the start of the second half.

2041: In the evening's other Champions League Group C fixture, Manchester United are 1-0 up against Bursaspor at half-time.

My Sport
From jerrybuilt On My Sport: "Let's not get carried away, only halfway there. Valencia will be all out second half"

From Graeme by text on 80295: "It wouldn't be a big game without the customary Kenny Miller sitter miss. He doesn't normally get two chances to miss though!"

"I think that Valencia are a bit stunned. Fair enough they had a good first 10 minutes, however for Rangers it's been like a snowball rolling and gaining momentum, it's all positive from the home side in the first half." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds

Half time
2032: HALF-TIME Rangers 1-0 Valencia
Rangers protect their lead until half-time. Valencia were, at times dominant in possession, but the most clear-cut opportunities were created by Rangers, one of which they took through Maurice Edu.

My Sport
From RPOED On My Sport: "How did Miller miss?"

2030: Rangers captain David Weir makes an important last-ditch tackle to clear the danger as Valencia threaten again.

"Miller was so unlucky there, it was a decent enough strike but I don't understand why he didn't use his right foot." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Gordon Smith

2028: With half-time only a couple minutes away, Rangers will be glad of their lead but that miss by Kenny Miller might come back to haunt them.

"There's no question that Valencia are rattled...Hands up, who expected this?" BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod

2026: More chances for Rangers! Maurice Edu's strike rebounds off the post to Kenny Miller but, with the goal gaping, the striker blasts the shot over.

2023: Valencia have come back into the match in the wake of falling behind and Pablo Hernandez curls an awkward shot towards goal, forcing Allan McGregor to push the ball wide.

"You really can't grudge Rangers their lead, they've not had most of the possession but they have had most of the chances." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Liam McLeod

2022: Maurice Edu needed some treatment after taking note while scoring the opening but the midfielder has returned to the play.

"Four or five Valencia players are surrounding the referee and I think they're suggesting that Edu used an elbow on the keeper." BBC Radio Scotland reporter Chick Young, pitch side at Ibrox

2018:GOAL Rangers 1-0 Valencia (Edu)
Vladimir Weiss's corner draws goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez off his line but Maurice Edu gets to the ball first to head Rangers in front.

2017: Mehmet Topal makes a vital clearance to as Steven Whittaker gets in a dangerous cross.

2015: The Valencia players claim unsuccessfully for a penalty after David Navarro's volley rebounds off Steven Davis and trickles out for a corner. Moments later Navarro heads wide from Tino Costa's deep cross.

Yellow card
2014: Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra receives the game's first booking for a late challenge on Tino Costa.

"The keeper Cesar Sanchez has saved Valencia twice now. You've got to say that those two chances are about the best you're going to get at Champions League level." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds

2011: Pablo Hernandez gets in between two Rangers defenders as they are trying to make a clearance and forces the ball towards goal and Allan McGregor makes an important save.

My Sport
From RPOED On My Sport: "aw Miller wot a chance"

2010: Rangers break and create an excellent chance to score. Kenny Miller beats the offside trap and goes in on goal but his shot is well saved by Cesar Sanchez. Rangers may come to regret that miss.

2008: The first quarter of the game has passed with Rangers having created the better chances, despite Valencia seeing the lion's share of possession.

"It was a sublime save by Cesar Sanchez." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds

2004: Rangers continue to press with Sasa Papac receiving Steven Davis's pass at the edge of the box and hammering in a shot that Cesar Sanchez tips over.

2003: Another chance for the home side. This time, Steven Naismith crosses for Kenny Miller, whose header from a tight angle is blocked by the goalkeeper.

2002: A first opening for Rangers. Kenny Miller's chip into the Valencia box is chased by the stretching Steven Naismith but goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez comes off his line to make the clearance.

"Rangers need to make passes somewhere on the pitch. How else are they going to get forward?" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds

2001: Tino Costa drags a shot wide of the Rangers goal after yet more passing from Valencia.

1959: Rangers put together a decent series of passes at the halfway line but then give the ball away and are forced back by Valencia.

1957: Valencia forward Pablo Hernandez plays a one-two before blazing a shot high and wide of target.

1956: Valencia's Cesar Sanchez Dominquez looks like he is wearing a woolly polo neck under his goalkeeper's jersey. There is a chill in the air in Glasgow, but that is a bit extreme for October. Then again, maybe he doesn't expect to be that busy as Rangers adopt their normal defensive system in Europe and look to catch their opponents on the break.

1953: In this evening's other Group C fixture, Manchester United have taken the lead against Bursaspor with Nani getting the goal.

1951: Three Rangers defenders attempt to make a clearance and the ball breaks for Jeremy Mathieu volleys wide.

"For me Rangers are just going to sit deep and hit on the counter-attack." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds

1949: Valencia goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez sprints out of his box to make a headed clearance under pressure from Rangers striker Kenny Miller.

1946: A mistake by Steven Whittaker gives Pablo Hernandez a shot at goal but Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor makes the save.

"There's a lot of movement for Valencia. They're very mobile." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Gordon Smith

1945: Rangers get the match started with the kick off.

1944: Both sets of players are out on the park and kick off is but seconds away.

My Sport
From Blue Heaven On My Sport: "An extremely difficult game for the Gers. But it's great to be on the big stage"

1942: Since beginning a second spell as Rangers manager in 2007, Walter Smith has faced Spanish opposition on six occasions, drawing twice and losing four times.

My Sport
From bringthemonjpn On My Sport: "Bit of a blow that Broadfoot didn't make it"

1926: For Valencia's Pablo Hernandez, this is a second trip to Glasgow in the space of eight days with the striker having featured as a substitute during Spain's victory over Scotland at Hampden last Tuesday.

"We will go with the same formation as we did in previous Champions League games and we hope that the two wide boys, Foster and Whittaker, will be pushing further forward than they did at Old Trafford, just as they did against Bursaspor. That was they key against Bursaspor." Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist

My Sport
From RPOED On My Sport: "I'm never confident against Spanish teams"

1920: Valencia last visited Ibrox in 1999, when they won 2-1 against Dick Advocaat's Rangers in a Champions League encounter.

My Sport
From Wolvibhoy On My Sport: "As a lifelong Valencia fan I am quietly confident we can leave Glasgow with 3 pts"

1917: It would appear that Rangers are sticking to the 5-4-1 formation they adopted in the previous two Champions League games and BBC Radio Scotland pundit Gordon Smith believes Kyle Lafferty will be brought on in the second half to replace lone striker Kenny Miller.

1912: Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot failed a late fitness test, giving Foster his opportunity. For Valencia, Juan Mata returns to the starting line-up after being on the bench in Saturday's match with Barcelona.

1908: Full teams from Ibrox:
Rangers: McGregor, Foster, Weir, Bougherra, Papac, Whittaker, Naismith, Davis, Edu, Weiss, Miller. Subs: Alexander, Fleck, Lafferty, Webster, Little, Wylde, Hutton.

Referee: Nicola Rizzoli (Italy)

1904: Team news from Ibrox. Rangers make two changes from Saturday's match with Motherwell, Neil Alexander and Kyle Lafferty dropping out and being replaced by Allan McGregor and Ricky Foster, who makes his Champions League debut.

1903: Welcome to live coverage of Rangers v Valencia.
