Cowdenbeath 1-3 Queen of South

An early strike from Paul Burns set Queen of the South up for a comfortable victory at Cowdenbeath.

The midfielder found the net with a 12-yard shot after three minutes and Derek Holmes added a second from a similar range shortly after the interval.

The hosts hit back when Marc McKenzie drove in a brilliant 25-yard shot.

But Ryan McGuffie added a third for Queens late on and the visitors held on despite losing David Lilley to two bookings in quick succession.

Cowdenbeath: Hay, Brett, Armstrong, Adamson, Linton (Robertson 58), McKenzie, Winter, Cameron (Stewart 75), Sibanda (Fairbairn 58), Dempster, Ramsay. Subs Not Used: Roy, O'Brien.

Goals: McKenzie 65.
