Clyde 3-1 Falkirk
A hat-trick from on-loan Adam Proudlock handed Clyde a fine 3-1 opening day win against Falkirk, who finished with ten men.

Both teams served up an exciting first 45 minutes of football with honours even at the break.

Things settled down after an initial brace of yellow cards.

The first culprit was Kevin Christie who bulldozed Proudlock as he homed in on goal and a minute later Darren Murray was cautioned after bringing down Gareth Hutchison.

Against the run of play, Hutchison nodded home a Davie Nicholls free-kick and in first half injury time Proudlock blasted home a Craig Cranmer knock down.

Clyde stepped up a gear and took the lead in the 53rd minute when a poor back-pass by McQuilken was intercepted by Convery whose lob over the advancing keeper allowed Proudlock to place the ball in the empty net.

Falkirk's Christie was sent off when he received a second yellow card in the 75th minute and man of the match Proudlock completed his hat-trick with a superb goal three minutes from time.

Clyde: Halliwell, Murray, McLauchlan, Smith, Cranmer, Ross, Convery, Sellers, Proudlock, Keogh, Grant. Subs: Henderson, Aitken, Cain, Hanley, Greer.

Falkirk: Hogarth, Lawrie, McQuilken, Rennie, Christie, Nicholls, McAllister, Kerr, Roberts, Henry, Hutchison. Subs: Denham, I. Morris, Waddell, McDonald, Hill.

Referee: P Toner
