Queen o' South 1-1 Raith Rovers


Newly-promoted Raith Rovers were denied an opening day win after Derek Holmes scored a last-minute equaliser for Queen of the South in Dumfries.

Queens were reduced to 10 men seven minutes before the break when Stevie Tosh received a second yellow card.

Rovers scored on the stroke of half-time when Allan Walker slammed Gregory Tade's neat pass into the net.

On 55 minutes, Rovers' Mark Campbell was red-carded for fouling Rocco Quinn, before Holmes scored from close range.

Queen of the South: Hutton, Reid, Harris (McQuilken 65), Lilley, McAusland (Weatherston 77), Burns, Wilson, Tosh, Quinn, Holmes, McLaren (Kean 65). Subs Not Used: Roy, McLaughlan.
