Airdrie 2-0 Queen of the South


Airdrie took a precious three points with a comfortable victory thanks to a fine first half showing.

With seven minutes gone Darren Smith drilled the ball into the area for Joe Cardle to fire the home side in front.

Queens' best opportunity for an equaliser came in 41 minutes when Stephen Robertson turned away Stevie Tosh's net-bound shot.

A minute from the interval Airdrie went two in front when Paul Di Giacomo's cross was curled home by Simon Lynch.
