Ten-man Ayr fought back to earn a share of the spoils against Airdrie.

The visitors looked set to take all three points when Kevin McDonald fired a superb 25-yard shot into the top corner a minute before the interval.

Ayr's problems were compounded seconds later when Chris Robertson was sent off for kicking out at McDonald and boss Brian Reid was banished to the stand.

The hosts drew level in the 67th minute when Eddie Forrest rose to bullet home a header from a Ryan Stevenson corner.
