BBC Scotland's Charlie Mann
"The home side needed to win"

Ayr United 1-1 Livingston
In a pulsating 1-1 draw, referee Kevin Toner made sure that this top-of-the-table clash ended in drama when he gave home skipper John Hughes two red cards.

Hughes was given two yellow cards for pushing in the box and was then shown a second red after he appeared to shove Mr Toner as he stormed from the field.

Livingston had gone in front on 34 minutes when Derek Fleming fired home a fantastic 20-yard free kick.

Ayr took only two minutes to reply when on-loan midfielder Hugh Robertson crossed for Gary Teale to slide the ball into the net.

Both sides had great chances to win the game in the second half before the fiery finish, but a draw was a fair result after an entertaining game.

Ayr United: Nelson, McEwan, Hughes, Craig, Lovering, Teale, Boyack, McGinlay, H. Robertson, Hurst, Grady.

Subs: Annand, Wilson, Rovde, Scally, Reynolds.

Livingston: Alexander, Hart, Andrews, Anderson, Fleming, Wilson, Tosh, McCulloch, Bingham, Crabbe, Burns.

Subs: Deas, McManus, Keith, Hagen, McCaldon.

Referee: Kevin Toner
