England have been boosted ahead of the Liechtenstein game with the return to fitness of Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand.

But three of Sven-Goran Eriksson's men will be walking a disciplinary tightrope if they figure against the Group Seven minnows at Old Trafford.

Captain David Beckham, Sol Campbell and Gerrard could all miss the crucial tie in Turkey next month if they pick up a booking.

Eriksson may decide to rest Real Madrid star Beckham just to make sure his most influential player can take part in the group decider in Istanbul.

The 28-year-old has already been suspended once during this competition for two bookings and he picked up another in Macedonia on Saturday, along with Campbell.
