Ex-Bristol City striker Marvin Brown is to join Irish Premier League side Cliftonville on a short-term trial.

The 21-year-old, most recently with Conference club Tamworth, was recommended to the Belfast outfit by Bobby Gould, the former Wales manager.

Gould, recently guest speaker at Cliftonville's 125th anniversary dinner, has been lined up to conduct a coaching session at Solitude.

Reds boss Liam Beckett wants to focus on scoring from set-pieces.

"Bobby recommended that when front players have gone off the boil you should revert to trying to score goals mainly from set-pieces," said Beckett.
