Hartson passes on penalty duties
Wales striker John Hartson
John Hartson says he has taken his last penalty in a Wales shirt.

The Celtic striker saw his spot kick saved in Saturday's World Cup win over Northern Ireland and has now decided to pass on the duties to a team-mate.

"I fancied the penalty, it would have been nice to score in that end where I was getting a load of stick from their crowd," said the 30-year-old.

"I had scored my last one against Serbia, so I fancied it. But someone else can have a go now."

Veteran goalkeeper Paul Jones, meanwhile, says one last game at the Millennium Stadium would be a perfect way to end his Wales career.

Jones, 38, made his first appearance for Wales in a year against Northern Ireland on Saturday after a late hip injury forced Lewis Price to miss out on his debut.

And although Jones has no intention of hanging up his gloves just yet, he knows further opportunities to play in Cardiff will now be few and far between.

Jones said: "I know the score, I am here to help the younger keepers and be the cover, but you never know what will happen or whether I will play again.

"But I will always be around to help, if I retire that's the end of it.

"I would like maybe one more game at the Millennium Stadium, that would be nice but we will have to wait and see how Lewis Price is with his hip injury first.

"It was tough but it was great fun, I got away with a few things and it bounced around the area a bit but we hung on and the lads in front of me were outstanding."
