Northern Ireland striker James Quinn has been granted a free transfer by his Dutch club Willem II and is set to move back to English football.

Writing in his weekly column in The Guardian, Quinn said that life in Holland had become "lonely".

"I've been happy with my football in Holland but life off the pitch isn't what is should be," said Quinn.

The striker is at present training with Milton Keynes Dons, who are managed by his former NI team-mate Danny Wilson.

Quinn joined the Dutch outfit from West Brom in 2002.
