Caborn wants Cup ticketing review
Wembley will host its first FA Cup final since 2000
Sports minister Richard Caborn wants a review of ticket prices for the first FA Cup final at the rebuilt Wembley.

The Football Association announced on Monday that the cheapest adult tickets for the match between Manchester United and Chelsea will cost 35.

Asked whether the prices for the final were okay, Caborn told BBC Five Live Sport: "No it's not.

"The FA must look at it carefully. They are in the marketplace and I hope they will review the ticket pricing."

Both teams will receive approximately 25,000 tickets, an increase of 1,500 on the number of tickets Liverpool and West Ham received for last year's final.

Those tickets will cost 35, 60, 80 and 95, with a limited number at 17.50 for under-16s.

And Caborn added: "I've said that I think the clubs and, indeed the FA as well, have got to look at ticket pricing and make sure that some of the profits made are recycled back into the game."

The Football Association believes it has set prices at a "sensible" level for the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Chelsea on 19 May.

"It was important to set ticket prices at a sensible and affordable level," said FA chief executive Brian Barwick.

We believe these prices are very competitive

"We believe these are very competitive for what will be a historic match."

Manchester United beat Watford 4-1 to reach the final, while Chelsea booked their Wembley place with a 2-1 extra-time win over Blackburn.

Chelsea were the last winners of the FA Cup when the final was played at the old Wembley, when they beat Aston Villa 1-0 in 2000.
