Grant felt his side deserved better after seeing them beaten in Istanbul
Chelsea boss Avram Grant believes his side will overcome Fenerbahce, despite losing the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final in Istanbul.
The Blues dominated the first hour in Turkey but were beaten and Grant said: "I feel good. If we play like we did in most of the game, then we can win.
"Normally it is a good result to lose 2-1 away but because we played the better football we are disappointed.
"We wanted to have the second leg at home - now we need to use it."
The defeat was Chelsea's first in European competition this season but they should have been home and dry after creating several chances in the first half.
"We played such good football that we deserved to lead three or four-nil," added Grant. "We talked with the players at half-time and said we needed to score more goals but we didn't.
"Then we slipped and they were back in the game. That is football - one slip and they equalised.
"Even then, Michael Ballack had a great chance in front of goal to put us 2-1 up but then they scored again from 25 metres.
"Against Olympiakos in the last round we did not play well away from home and drew 0-0. Here we played very well and we lost 2-1 - I don't know what to say.
"Because we were unlucky, we are disappointed. We deserved to win, and not just 1-0, but we lost. You ask me if I believe it but this is football and what can I do?
"From the point of view of the football we played, it was good but football is about the result. Now we are going home 2-1 down but are still optimistic."
