2150: That's all for now. Good work everyone. See you again tomorrow. A mystery host will take your calls on BBC Radio 5 Live's 606 tonight from 2200 GMT. I'm hoping it's Basil Brush. More likely, it will be Alan 'Greenie' Green.

2144: No arguments about the man of the match in Marseille according to BBC website users. That man is Fernando Torres whose sublime first-half goal put Liverpool in control at 2-0. The striker is on 8.92, nosing ahead of Steven Gerrard who has 8.32. Still time to have your say though.

2140: Joining Liverpool and Chelsea in the last 16 are Porto (top of Group A ahead of Liverpool), Schalke (second behind Chelsea in Group B), Real Madrid and Olympiakos (first and second in Group C).

2135: FULL-TIME Marseille 0-4 Liverpool
Goals from Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babel see Liverpool qualify second in Group A. Relief for Rafa.

2135: FULL-TIME Chelsea 0-0 Valencia
A Stamford Bridge stalemate but it doesn't matter. Chelsea finish top.

2135: Tommaso Rocchi has a chance to reduce the deficit for Lazio at the Bernabeu but his penalty is saved by Iker Casillas as is his follow-up. And that's full-time.

2134: GOAL Marseille 0-4 Liverpool
Fabio Aurelio puts Ryan Babel through and the winger holds off the defender, beats the keeper and stabs home.

2132: We're into added time.

2128: Rafa Benitez makes his third change and Javier Mascherano stays on. Dirk Kuyt plods off and on comes Leiva Lucas.

2126: Javier Mascherano is back on for Liverpool but is treading gingerly. Not sure why Benitez doesn't just take him off.

2125: Chelsea just can't keep away from the woodwork this evening. Joe Cole finds the post this time.

2123: Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano is down injured holding his right leg, after he and Sami Hyypia went for the same ball and the defender slid into him. The Argentine is stretchered off.

2121: GOAL Real Madrid 3-1 Lazio
Tommaso Rocchi sets up Goran Pandev for a consolation tap-in. It's not much of a consolation though because the striker collides with the post after sliding in and is hurt. It's a video nasty.

2119: Fernando Torres gets a well-deserved rest - which will be a relief to the Marseille defenders who have been given the run-around by the Liverpool striker all night. Ryan Babel is on.

2117: Now it's Claudio Pizarro's turn to hit the post after good work by Juliano Belletti and Shaun Wright-Phillips.

2115: GOAL Olympiakos 3-0 Werder Bremen
Ieroklis Stoltidis nips in ahead of the keeper and smashes home from six yards to get his second of the game.

2115: Chelsea won't get a better chance than that. Salomon Kalou contrives to hit the bar from six yards out after being set up by the much-maligned Claudio Pizarro.

2112: GOAL Olympiakos 2-0 Werder Bremen
Darko Kovacevic looks to have wrapped things up for the Greek champions, who will finish second behind Real Madrid in Group C. Werder Bremen will drop into the Uefa Cup.

2112: "Pizarro is horrible. No way he'll start in the Arsenal game. When we talk about bringing in a new striker we need one that can replace him! He's worthless, no wonder he was for free!"
Bluestopfan on 606

2108: Claudio Pizarro is doing a fine job of playing himself out of the Chelsea team to face Arsenal on Sunday. The striker has been very poor this evening.

2106: GOAL Porto 2-0 Besiktas
Ricardo Quaresma doubles Porto's lead and that is surely the Group A standings done and dusted. Just as that goal goes in, Djibril Cisse heads narrowly wide for Marseille.

2104: Chelsea boss Avram Grant takes Frank Lampard off after an hour as he starts to think about Sunday's game at Arsenal.

2102: The draw for the knockout stage is on Friday 21 December - which is also the day of the winter solstice as I'm sure you're aware. As it stands, Liverpool will play one of the teams finishing top of their group. They can't face English opposition so could face the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona or Real Madrid.

2100: Mind you, you can't really blame them for engaging in mindless banter, the football's all gone a bit quiet.

2057: Looks like the WUMs have taken over on 606 (that's wind-up merchants for those of you not well-versed in these matters). Anyone fancy playing peacemaker?

2052: "3-0. C'est fini!"
redandblackT(pirlo il genio) on 606

2050: GOAL Marseille 0-3 Liverpool
Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda's terrible kick lands straight at Harry Kewell's feet and the winger provides a superb pass for Dirk Kuyt to smash home a third for the rampant Reds.

2046: Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse replaces another former Red Bolo Zenden as Marseille look for early goals. And we're back under way.

2040: No prizes for guessing that striker Fernando Torres is leading the way in the interactive Player Rater for Marseille v Liverpool. He's on a whopping 8.74 ahead of Stevie G on 8.05. No Marseille player has more than 5.

2035: What's happening at Stamford Bridge? texts Jamie Bylett. Well, Jamie, here's the Long and short of it: Chelsea have had plenty of chances but have found Valencia keeper Santiago Canizares in fine form. Apart from Canizares, Valencia have been pretty dire.

2033: HALF-TIME Marseille 0-2 Liverpool
Steven Gerrard's early strike and a stunner from Fernando Torres mean everything is rosy for Liverpool - who will finish second in Group A as it stands.

2031: HALF-TIME Chelsea 0-0 Valencia
Goalless but it doesn't matter to Chelsea.

2029: GOAL Porto 1-0 Besiktas
Lucho Gonzalez scores for Porto at the end of the first-half and that means Porto will win Group A ahead of Liverpool as it stands.

2027: Another great chance for Liverpool. Dirk Kuyt releases Fernando Torres but the Spanish striker lifts the ball over.

2025: Harry Kewell comes close to making it 3-0 as he finds himself unmarked at the far post but his volley goes over the bar. He probably should have found the target.

2024: Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard puts a touch too much swing on a free-kick from 30 yards and it drifts wide.

2022: GOAL Schalke 3-1 Rosenborg
Kevin Kuranyi restores Schalke's two-goal lead and as it stands they will go through to the last 16 at Rosenborg's expense.

2021: GOAL Real Madrid 3-0 Lazio
Robinho lays the ball off for Ruud van Nistelrooy who squares the ball for the Brazilian striker to slide home and put the hosts in complete control.

2020: There goes Fernando Torres on one of those slaloming runs but he is eventually crowded out by the desperate Marseille defence.

2017: Marseille make their first change with Samir Nasri - the current young player of the year in France - replacing Benoit Cheyrou. Nasri has been suffering from an ankle injury but his side need a hero now.

2014: Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is the first man to be booked in Marseille for a high tackle.

2012: Lots of you have been texting in to ask why Liverpool's shirts are missing the sponsors' name. It's to comply with French law on advertising alcohol. Let's hear no more about it.

2008: GOAL Schalke 2-1 Rosenborg
But wait! Yssouf Kone gets the Norwegian surprise package back on track.

2007: Still no goals at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea are in charge, with Andriy Shevchenko and John Terry going close to breaking the deadlock.

2005: GOAL Schalke 2-0 Rosenborg
The wheels are coming off for Rosenborg who only need a draw to qualify behind Chelsea in Group B. Marcio Rafinha doubles the hosts' lead. This must be some of sort of Champions League record for goals in the first 20 minutes...

2002: "Fernando, will you marry me? And Harry will you be my best man?"
lfcmurphy9999 on 606

2000: GOAL Real Madrid 2-0 Lazio
Raul rises high and heads home Robinho's cross for his third goal of this Champions League campaign. Any Real Madrid nerves must surely be settled now.

1958: GOAL Schalke 1-0 Rosenborg
Gerald Asamoah's goal means Schalke go ahead of Rosenborg in Group B and will qualify as it stands.

1957: GOAL Real Madrid 1-0 Lazio
Julio Baptista cuts inside and rifles a fantastic shot home from 20 yards, with Lazio keeper Marco Ballotta having no chance. It's looking good for the top two in Group C.

1956: GOAL Olympiakos 1-0 Werder Bremen
Ieroklis Stoltidis picks up the ball 20 yards out and fires home a swerving low shot which the keeper gets a hand on but cannot keep out.

1955: GOAL Marseille 0-2 Liverpool
Fabulous goal. Fernando Torres dinks the ball past Julien Rodriguez and glides past another defender before finishing coolly past keeper Steve Mandanda. Real class.

1953: A let-off for Real Madrid as Lazio's Sebastiano Siviglia blazes over from six yards. Real go straight up the other end and Raul heads against the post from a corner.

1950: "What a stupid challenge to put in, good game on our hands now."
Sebwinder on 606

1948: GOAL Marseille 0-1 Liverpool
Steven Gerrard's early injury doesn't stop him charging into the box and he's brought down by a very rash Gael Givet tackle. Clear penalty. The captain's spot-kick is saved but he easily puts away the rebound and it's a dream start for Liverpool.

1947: Penalty to Liverpool.

1946: Not a great start for Liverpool. Dirk Kuyt's pass is a bit short and Steven Gerrard injures himself in trying to reach it. He's still hobbling a bit.

1945: Away we go then. Marseille have opted to play in their away orange and blue kit, while Liverpool are in black.

1940: Voici les equipes at the Stade Velodrome. The Marseille fans are holding up bits of card spelling out the words "Droit au but" which means straight to goal. I think. Sorry, no more French now.

1938: Chelsea's side isn't as "much-changed" as I expected. What's Avram's thinking? Keeping 'em sharp for Arsenal on Sunday?

1936: Ooh, I love it. It's all gone French over on 606. Who says the Brits don't do languages?

1932: "Shouldn't the byline be Caroline Fromage?"
ExiledCanary on 606

1925: "Liverpool gagnera par un but ŕ zéro."
dirk-kuyt18 on 606

Which means Liverpool will win by a goal to nil. Ha. I knew that French GCSE would come in useful.

1923: Of course, if Liverpool lose and Besiktas win, the Reds won't even have the consolation of Uefa Cup football... but let's not go there.

1920: Elsewhere tonight, Real Madrid need a point at home to Lazio to progress - or a defeat by less than two goals. Not so simple that one.

1915: "Re 1907: Nous aimons le barbelé. Nous aimons l'un barbu. Not sure which one."

1913: It's a relatively simple calculation for Liverpool. They need victory tonight - unless Besiktas win in Porto in which case a point would be enough.

1907: "What's the French for 'we love the bearded one'?"
Mike, via text on 81111

1905: TEAM NEWS Chelsea v Valencia
Paulo Ferreira, Wayne Bridge and Tal Ben-Haim come into the defence while Michael Essien and Claudio Pizarro also start.
Chelsea team: Cech, Ferreira, Ben-Haim, Terry, Bridge, Wright-Philllips, Essien, Lampard, Shevchenko, Pizarro, Kalou

1900: Sounds like Rafa's sick of hearing about this game... "It's an important game but I've been hearing that for one or two months," says the Liverpool boss.

1858: "Liverpool to win 2-1, 1-0 Liverpool at half-time, Marseille to equalise, Gerrard to win it. Heard it hear first."
George via text on 81111

1855: "It's a good team and I think it will be 2-0 to the Reds. Kuyt and Stevie. Come on Liverpool."
torres786 on 606

1850: TEAM NEWS Marseille v Liverpool
Dirk Kuyt comes in for Peter Crouch up front, while Harry Kewell, Yossi Benayoun and Sami Hyypia also start.
Liverpool team: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise, Benayoun, Gerrard, Mascherano, Kewell, Torres, Kuyt

1849: Chelsea are also in action - at home to Valencia - but it'll be a stroll in the park for Avram Grant's boys. They have qualified top of Group B already so expect one of those "much-changed" sides at Stamford Bridge.

1845: Bon soir, c'est Le Crunch a Marseille.
