BBC Sport rounds up the action from the main European leagues.


Paris St Germain moved back on top of the Ligue 1 standings after their 1-1 draw at promoted Troyes.

PSG took the lead on 37 minutes when Pauleta scored his 100th goal in the French top flight from 174 games.

Marseille's poor start to the season continued after they lost 3-2 against Rennes, who had not previously scored a goal this season.

Marseilles led twice, through Mamadou Niang and Sabri Lamouchi, but goals from John Utaka, Alexander Frei and Kim Kallstrom earned the Bretons the points.

Only Nancy's last minute 1-0 loss to champions Lyon saved Marseille from being bottom of the table.

Former Tottenham head coach Jacques Santini saw his Auxerre side humiliated 7-0 by Lens.

Daniel Cousin, Olivier Thomert and Brazilian Jussiei each bagged a pair, with the other goal coming from Yohan Demont.

Nantes earned a 1-1 draw with Nice despite finishing the game with 10 men after Mauro Cetto was sent off.

Former Liverpool player Bruno Cheyrou netted for Bordeaux as they beat Monaco 1-0, and the games at Ajaccio, Sochaux and Metz all finished goalless.

St Etienne's defence was breached for the first time after keeping three clean sheets in a 1-1 draw at Toulouse.

Daniel Moreira's free-kick put the home side ahead just before half-time, but Les Verts levelled through David Hellebuyk on the hour for a point to move up to eighth place.


Two second-half goals by Barry van Galen saw AZ Alkmaar beat FC Utrecht 2-1 to go top of the Dutch table.

RKC Waalwijk beat Groningen by the same score.

Feyenoord also made it two wins in two games as they beat Sparta 3-1 in the Rotterdam derby, with one of the goals coming from Dirk Kuyt, who has been linked with Tottenham.

Heerenveen produced the result of the weekend, coming from 2-0 down to beat Roda JC 5-4.

Edrissa Sonko and Arouna Kone opened the scoring before goals by Ugur Yildirim, Georgios Samaras, Danijel Pranjic and two from Klaas Jan Huntelaar put the home side in charge.

But goals from Gregoor van Dijk and Sergio ensured a tense finale.

Newly-promoted Heracles Almelo are second after a 2-1 win at ADO Den Haag .

Ajax opened their season with a 2-0 win at RBC Roosendaal.

Defending champions PSV Eindhoven came from behind to earn their first win of the season, 2-1 over Vitesse Arnhem.
