Full-time Holland continue to throw everything - including Stam - forward but they just cannot penetrate the Czech defence.

The whistle goes and the Czech Republic are the first team to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

Smicer taps the ball beyond a stranded Van der Sar to put the Czechs in front.

Liverpool team-mate Baros puts Heinz through. His shot is saved by the Dutch 'keeper but Poborsky picks up the rebound and squares it to Smicer.

85 mins: A lashing left-footed effort from Nedved bounces tantalisingly under the bar.

The Dutch survive and decide to make another substitution as Van der Vaart replaces Seedorf.

Nedved showed excellent work to find Koller in the box. The giant striker chested the ball down to Baros who takes his chance well.

68 mins: The Czech Republic continue to press forward for an equaliser as the pace of the game begins to drop a little.

64 mins: A disgruntled Van Nistelrooy falls to the ground but Rosicky is adjudged to have taken the ball first in a gutsy tackle from behind.

63 mins: Van der Sar shows quick responses to turn Smicer's shot round the post but the corner is defended by the Czechs.

61 mins: The Czechs follow suit by bringing on striker Heinz, who scored in the opening win over Latvia, in place of defensive midfielder Galasek.

59 mins: Manchester City midfielder Bosvelt comes on for Robben, who has been outstanding down the left, in a tactical switch by Advocaat.

56 mins: Robben delivers a pinpoint cross to Van Nistelrooy but the Premiership striker sees his header bounce off Cech for a corner.

54 mins: Galasek picks up the Czech Republic's first yellow card of the tournament after bringing down Davids.

50 mins: Robben gives away a free-kick and Nedved completes the move with a looping shot on the turn which Cech pulls to his chest.

47 mins: Van der Meyde races forward on the right but his shot is saved by Cech then Poborsky forces a save at the other end as both sides show no signs of letting the tempo drop.

46 mins: Dick Advocaat's men restart the match with neither side making any further substitutions just yet.

Half-time: Holland take their slender lead into the interval but there is a sense that there will be more goals to come in a very open and entertaining match.

44 mins: Stam clears Jankulovski's drifted ball away from the danger zone as the Czechs try and push for an equaliser before half-time.

41 mins: Davids, who has been relatively quiet in the Dutch midfield, makes his presence felt when his powerful 25-yard strike thumps the right post.

38 mins: Holland quickly surge forward on the break with some good work from defender Heitinga.

Robben, who has provided the Dutch with precision and pace on the left, fires in a short corner but this time the Czech defence holds firm.

36 mins: Nedved shows quick feet in the box but Koller's resulting header is pushed out for a corner which is comfortably cleared by Holland.

34 mins: Seedorf sees another speculative 30-yard volley skim wide of the post again as Holland surge forward on the break.

31 mins: Czech 'keeper Cech shows just why he is on his way to Chelsea when he turns Heitinga's piledriver over the bar with the fingertips of his out-stretched left hand.

29 mins: Van Nistelrooy is denied a penalty after he appeared to be held back by Hamburg defender Ujfalusi.

25 mins: Czech boss Bruckner makes his first change bringing on Smicer comes for Grygera.

23 mins: GOAL - Holland 2-1 Czech Republic:
Koller gets one back for the Czech Republic after nudging the ball past Van der Sar from close range.

Liverpool's Baros surged forward after picking up a loose ball from midfield. He showed good strength to hold off Stam before passing the ball to a waiting Koller on the right.

19 mins: GOAL - Holland 2-0 Czech Republic:
Van Nistelrooy doubles Holland's advantage when he taps in Robben's squared pass from the left.

The Manchester United striker was walking back from an off-side position but there is no argument about the goal.

17 mins: The Czech Republic earn the first corner of the game but Nedved's poor effort goes too long.

15 mins: Holland regain their composure and show some neat passing through midfield but Seedorf's final shot skims wide.

12 mins: Some untidy tackles by Van Bronckhorst and Van der Meyde hand the Czechs chances to grab a quick equaliser but they fail to make the most of the set-pieces.

8 mins: Seedorf is shown a yellow card by referee Mejuto after bringing down Czech skipper Nedved. The Juventus player sends the ball high into the box but it is cleared by the Dutch.

6 mins: Dick Advocaat's side earn another free-kick from 30 yards out after Van Nistelrooy is brought down. But Seedorf's curling effort just clips the top of the left post.

3 mins: GOAL - Holland 1-0 Czech Republic:
Bouma gets on the end of a swooping free-kick from Robben from the right to head home at the far post.

2 mins: Czech left-back Jankulovski bundles his way through the Holland defence as his side go on the attack but his right-footed shot is weak.

1 min: Rosicky puts Koller through with a neat chip but the giant striker fires it over the bar.

1745 BST: The Czech Republic kick-off the last of the second round of group matches at Aveiro's Municipal Stadium in Portugal.

Holland midfielder Clarence Seedorf replaces Boudewijn Zenden in the starting line-up after shaking off a hamstring injury.

Chelsea's summer signing Arjen Robben also gets his chance on the wing in place of Rafael van der Vaart.

The Czech Republic make only one change to the side that secured an opening win against Latvia.

Martin Jiranek comes in for Rene Bolf, who has a virus, at the heart of the defence.

Victory for Karel Bruckner's side would be enough to secure their place in the quarter-finals.
