Pre-match build-up:

1837 BST: Bulgaria and Sweden's fans mixed in their thousands at the Estadio Alvalade to provide a colourful backdrop to the Group C encounter.

Sweden's fans were decked out in their country's colours, plus hundreds in Celtic shirts celebrating the return of hero Henrik Larsson to competitive international action.

Bulgarian bands played outside the 52,000-capacity stadium, which is home to Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.

Sweden has a huge Celtic following, and they will also have been following the fortunes of Bulgaria's Stilian Petrov.

Sweden have been tipped as one of the dark horses for the tournament, having beaten England in the build-up.

And they have high hopes for their new strike force of Larsson, who has come out of international exile for the tournament, and the dangerous Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Temperatures had soared into the 90s, providing even more testing than those that faced England and France at the Stadium of Light 24 hours earlier.
